Greetings sisters and brothers of 1521A,
I hope this newsletter finds you safe and healthy. We have had a hectic and confusing week. We wish to thank members who contacted us about their concerns and issues related to the numerous directives received from the LACCD. We are keeping a detailed list of all concerns and issues. We ask that chapter chairs and officers continue to forward emails and responses to your Executive Secretary and myself. If any chapter chair and officer has emailed a district manager or administrator without coping us, please forward them to us. We will be meeting with the district immediately after this crisis is over to clear up unresolved issues. We need to be very specific in our discussions. Your concerns will continue to be addressed on a case by case basis.
Our office will be closed during this crisis. Our staff is working remotely from home. Telephone calls will be checked daily. If you have an emergency, please email Executive Secretary Steven Butcher ( or myself (
Our elections will take place as planned. AAA will handle everything from their offices. We advise all candidates to follow the published election timelines. (Unfortunately, the candidate forums have been cancelled)
Your officers and I are working on setting a conference call for the Executive Board and members to receive the outside audit report. A notice will go out with the details.
Not to frighten anyone. This crisis is real!! Last week a 90 year old friend of my family died of Covid-19. Her daughter went to a party, got sick and brought it home to her mother. Please stay safe!<P>
In Solidarity,
Ruby J. Newbold
